Kontos
A pole arm used by armoured cavalry often mistakenly referred to as a lance as it like a lance resembles a heavy long spear. However its mode of use is quite different and it is never couched like a lance and has to be wielded with both hands, rather after the style of a Naginatta, though it relies on its weight and the leverage of a twelve foot shaft rather than on its cutting edge. Highly skilled users can benefit form a buckler which is strapped to their off hand fore arm.
