Episode fourteen an update
Tonight we had an unexpected turn of events in that we where two players short of the normal group and a new player who had been expected also did not make it so I really did not feel that it was right to carry on with the main story where Session XV had ended, given we only had half the team. As a result I decided to take the opportunity to put into effect my plan for an interlude with new characters set in the county town of Vaynham early and with this in mind had the two players generate new characters for that with the intent that they also act as reserves for the ones in the main story in the event of fatalities, as well as allow me to run a couple of urban adventures which would fill out details for the most major settlement in the area..
As a result of this most of the evening was spent generation characters and all the play we managed was the preamble to the subsequent events where the situation in the town was described. Never the less I will write this up in the normal way shortly.
This means I now intend to continue with this interlude over episode fifteen generation new characters for those present who have not got one and running the urban adventures to fill out Vayanam over the month of May & bringing events there up to date before returning to the main tale in June
It always pays to have a plan when Gm'ing but not to get too attached to it as it may need to be ditched at short notice not to mention to have a fall back plan or two to hand for good measure.
