COGS and Gears experience

Well you may ask what is this all about?

There is a lot of back office type work for any role playing game which needs to be done for the game to run smoothly but would if I mixed it in with the story rather break that up and spoil the flow. It is however the sort of information which is of great use to GM's in running their own games. Especially as I have been running RPG's since 1976 and have probably made every mistake in the book, but I hope learned form them, so can I hope be of use to those of you with less experience especially if you are just starting out..

I would also add that I am also just starting out with HackMaster having got into it in the past year and the game you are seeing bloged about here is the first one which has gone beyond a couple of sessions and the first one where I have used the full HackMaster rules the trial sessions where done with HackMaster Basic which I heartily recommend as it put new life in to my view of fantasy gaming.

The second phase of the campaign against the goblins begins with a nasty grubby little ambush and where it goes next is any ones guess. None of the player characters levels though a couple of them should do next session but quietly in the background Liamar reaches second level

Levels all the player characters are now Third level and all but Heradin who did so only reached this level due to the downtime awards for studying Zildor’s scroll & attempting to learn the spells on it are fully trained, Heradin is only trained to level two.

All of the NPC protégés with the company except Liamar are second level and fully trained Violet is still twelfth and the Strangers fourth level 

Fame the players have not done any thing before worthy of gaining a Fame award but the return to A’Rakham and the display of goblin heads as well as the ogres has given them the beginnings of a reputation as hero’s so all of those present in A’Rakham get a Fame award of +10
