Dragon broach without a pin
A beautifully
worked piece of silver even if it is much discoloured with small amber coloured
stones for eyes. It carries a minor enchantment that allows it to act as a key
to the back gate of the ancient Dwarf hold found under the Meliac’s farm’s
Barn
Black wood box
A heavy coffer
of dark wood framed in Bronze with a sturdy if packable lock my be enchanted to
preserve its content some what as the material found with in was rather better
preserved than that found in the rest of the area where it was found.
The Arcane Tome
A large book with
solid wooden leather covered covers bound in gilt bronze or brass which may be
secured, closed by a strap and buckle arrangement. The book is around A3 size
and has over a hundred pages. All are covered with an unfamiliar ancient script
seemingly in the hands of several writers it is illustrated thought out with
various arcane diagrams mostly of increasingly elaborate versions of the design
found on the floor of the chamber where it was found. The book is showing its
age and is not in quite such a good condition as the apparent spell book found
in the same location but it is very well made and seems to be entirely intact. The page which
it was open at when found is probably the worst discoloured. Some one adept at
appraising books and documents would quickly discern that the book has been
rebound possibly to add additional pages at least once possibly several times.
The Bronze Dagger
Found in the box
above with the apparent spell book and a handful of miscellaneous items. It is
a beautiful piece of work a roundel style dagger with a broad leaf blade of
untarnished bronze a vaguely feminine hand grip apparently turned from some
sort of ivory framed by a minimal cross guard and pommel also bronze but very
finely worked with a pattern of interlocking raised diamonds along their edge.
The weapon
resembles those used by some of the Drejii tribes of the young kingdoms east of
the spine of the world but the work is of a truly master quality. A comment
from D’rek who appraised the weapon suggests the weapon would be worth a prince’s
ransom if a buyer could be found.
The Spell book
This appears to
be the archetypical wizards spell book it is around A5 sized bound with heavy
leather and contains one hundred and twenty pages of finest calf vellum about
two thirds of which are covered with writing in an ancient script. The script
is unreadable and unidentifiable by any who have yet seen it but does appear to
be the work of one hand and resembles that in the Tome
Assorted strange coins
Found in the
chamber of the wizard both on the wizard and in the black wood box where a
number of Bronze, Brass & silver coins of an unfamiliar but very defiantly
related type around a dozen of each
where found suggesting that they where once the wizards disposable wealth. The
notable thing about all of them is that they appear to have script on them
which resembles that in the tome and the spell book.
Elf bane Arrowheads
Dwarf work for
certain resembling a cross between a hunting broad head and a war arrow and
with the makers mark on them in something which resemble oddly formed dwarven
runes.
Dwarven splint mail armour
Recovered from
the accommodation area outside of the halls of Aildor the arch mage it is not
magical but has been enchanted to resist tarnish and the effects of age it is
very fine armour of solid, welded, rings reinforced by scales and splints over
the torso shoulders and forearms made for a dwarf but it is wearable by a human
& similar who though taller are of slighter build all lacings on the armour
are made of a metallic weave rather than leather or plant fibres as in common
armour of this type
Broach of the radiant flame
Found in the
kennels of the goblin camp it is a simple disc cloak broach made of a bronze
alloy showing what appears to be a holy symbol, thought one not known in this
age on Telene, of a flame emitting rays of light. If handled by the right
individual it becomes apparent that there is the design of an archway over lain
on the flame and if further handled further by the right individual a ring of
dwarf like script which glows softly and then activates the broaches
considerable but subtle power and teleports the bearer without error to the
nearest operational gate on the kings road. It was long used as a badge by the
successors of Aildor until replaced by a more resplendent but less magically
potent one as the Dwarf Empire fell into decadence
Zildor’s scroll
Written in
Dwarvish thought an unfamiliar dialect of it for Telene it contains three
useful spells and notes on how to learn them, they are TRANSLATE as well as the
apprentice spell of ENCRYPT MAGIC which renders the text in a spell book
unreadable to any save the person who cast it and READ MAGIC a journeyman spell
which allows the caster to read and understand any spell so protected as well
as well as being a help in understanding magical writings of all sorts.
