This is the original quarters built by the  champion of the free who created the Hidden Dell more than three decades ago and not used since his death at the hands of the followers of the Overlord and replacement by Violet.

The Holdfast is cut into the cliffs at the west end of the Hidden Dell it is accessible by a not now much used path from the village which goes past the small paddocks outside and by a rather precipitous trail which is cut into the cliff just to the north of the paddocks

The Holdfast is well made, cut into the soft sands stone and lined with harder stone conjured from elsewhere it is  dry and given it is a cave dwelling quite comfortable it was built by the previous champion of the free using magic his apprentices as labour and his knowledge of civil engineering

The ceilings are universally around nine feet and the place  is lit in the communal areas by brass panels enchanted to give light on command by any one the private areas are lit by more conventional oil lamps but the place is designed well enough that the ventilation remains good and it does not normally fill with smoke.

The cold pantry is enchanted to act in the manner of a fridge rather than a freezer and the armouries are not that well stocked containing only a dozen spears medium shields and man sized suits of leather armour, these are marked with the livery of the Kalamarian family the former champion hailed from

The area the Champion designated as his personal quarters is accessible only through a  spell concealed and locked door and has remained  sealed since his death.indeed most people even the ones who lived here before the village was built have forgotten it even exists
